BENTLEY COUPLE URGE HOPEFUL HOMEBUYERS

6th March 2007

A young Bentley couple has just stepped onto the property ladder and is urging other hopeful homebuyers to seek the help of experts to secure their home.

At 23 years old, Sean Win Shwe and wife Susan Zeng are now homeowners having sought the help of buyers' agents to find a property that was well above the standard and well below the price they expected to afford in the current property market.

"We were delighted when our agent came back to us with this property to inspect, it was the kind of property we didn't think we could afford on our budget in today's market," Mr Win Shwe said.

In November, Mr Win Shwe and Ms Zeng bought a rear duplex home in Bentley for $390,000 with the help of Property Wizards Buyers' Agency.

"The property market is getting so complex now that it really paid off having an expert on our side, so I definitely encourage homebuyers to seek advice when they're looking to buy," he said.

"Buying a home is a huge investment and one that we thought was too risky to take on ourselves because we wanted to find a property that could help build our wealth, not just simply meet our living needs."

Property Wizards buyers' agent Keith English said there was a strengthening trend among homebuyers to follow in the footsteps of experienced property investors, by teaming up with professional buyers' agents to help relieve the uncertainty of the market.

"Using a buyer's agent was once mostly the domain of property investors, but we have seen a growing number of homebuyers taking up the trend, and with a degree of uncertainty plaguing the market this year, we expect it to keep increasing," he said.

Mr English said homebuyers who used agents had access to key expertise and a wider choice of properties via the agent's network, which included silent listings not yet advertised.

Mr Win Shwe said he was impressed with the amount of time and money he saved throughout the process and was pleased with the after-sales service, which included regular updates on hot properties and opportunities.

"Knowing there was someone searching the market for us and representing our needs, rather than the interest of the seller, took a lot of stress out of the situation," he said.

"There are so many reports about first homebuyers struggling to get into the market, but we simply didn't hit any hurdles that would push us out and with the help of an expert we found a great investment for our future."
